This site is dedicated to the memory of Sandra MacRae.

Sandra Cameron MacRae. 1948 - 2013 Sandra my darling wife and best friend came into my life in 1968. We were married in April 1969 and spent a wonderful 44 years together. Sandra was a devoted mother to our son (Kenneth) and daughter (Wendy) much loved Grandma by our 5 grandchildren. Jessica, Rebecca, Chloe, Aaron and Skye-Maree. Throughout our married life Sandra lived with a lung condition which was as a result of scarred tissue as a toddler. (She never smoked a cigarette in her life) In the early days her condition deteriorated from Asthma, Bronchial Asthma, Bronchitis, leading onto Bronchiectasis. This progressive disease resulted in a lobectomy (part of her lung being removed in 1994) initially with a total pneumonectomy some two years later. Latterly, in order for Sandra to carry out what we call ' normal day to day tasks' she relied on compressed oxygen though out the day. She was able to get out and about thanks to the NHS-NSS Oxycon Home Fill system which enabled her to enjoyed life although restricted by her disability. Sandra was a wonderful lady, going through life thinking and caring for others, silently suffering. She commenced her working career as a Registered General Staff Nurse, progressing to ' Ward Sister'. Due to her illness she retired from nursing early and became a lecturer in pre- nursing at our local college. Our family and the wider community have lost a wonderful, brave, honourable person, wife, mother, grandma and special friend. She will always be remembered and will remain forever in my heart and thoughts. Duncan MacRae November 2013
